First, there was "Kittens Inspired by Kittens."
Then there was this:
And that, my friends, is what we call Evolution.

Playgirl, why are you dancing when you could be alone? Hey, playgirl.
Update: Do not buy the real video, give it to your friend for her birthday, and encourage her to play said video during her birthday party. This is especially true if you don't own a vcr and cannot prescreen it. (Guys, this vhs taught me all about "the female gaze").

My God doesn't say, "Oh my, I better go out and buy/lift me a table somewhere and impress me a teenager."
I made the youtube bar red because red is the color of the Devil.

First Media Appearance
I'm delighted to announce that I have made it in this world. I'm on Feministing!! This session was filmed at the 2009 symposium Women, Action and the Media and the panel is In/Out of Focus: Gender Non-Conformity and the Media. I have reproduced the video below for your convenience. In it, I share the stage with Julia Serano, Miriam Perez, Jack Aponte, and Kate Bovich. The magic starts at 00:08.
FAME!!!! (Please note that this video does not highlight my eloquent speech noting that lunch will be served after the session and you need your nametag to see Sarah Haskins later)
If you want to book me for any future events, kindly note that I charge an appearance fee of $5 and require a drink ticket.
Rollerblades = NOT TERRIBLE
I'm really in love with the blog Everything is Terrible. It has so many amazing videos for our entertainment. They shortened up this great promotional video about roller blading gear.
Does anyone else remember thinking this stuff was the coolest when they were five years old?

Target Chuckles
It's time for a tribute post to Sarah Haskins. She's awesome. She has a segment called Target: Women on Current TV's Infomania show. It mocks the advertising industry's conceptualization of women as consumers. From yogurt to birth control, she has it covered.
Here's one about Jewelry:
She's so great. And best of all: I'm going to see her in March! She'll be performing at the WAM! Conference. The conference, formally known as Women, Action, and the Media, is where I get my feminist and visual culture kicks. It was amazing last year and I would not shut up about for weeks and I am so excited that I can hardly contain myself.
